Federal lawsuits alleging Sanofi Aventis United States LLC didn’t sufficiently alert that Taxotere could cause long-term eye injuries will be integrated prior to a Louisiana judge supervising another proceeding over the breast cancer drug, the U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation said Tuesday.Plaintiffs allege that Sanofi didn’t effectively alert physicians that Taxotere might trigger long-term excessive tearing due to the fact that of tear duct blockage. A better warning would have enabled treatment that might prevent the injury, they said. The suits share typical legal and factual issues, the panel said, and combining them into one case will enhance litigation performance and prevent irregular judgments.
